After what seemed to be months of leaks, the GoPro Hero 9 Black has officially landed, and it comes bearing gifts that include a new 23.6MP sensor a bigger battery, removable lens and a front screen for extreme vloggers.

More battery, better resolution, more powerful, improved stabilizer, two screens… GoPro seems to have reserved nothing in this new HERO9 Black.

GoPro’s slogan for the Hero 9 launch is “More everything,” and there really are enough new things here for that to feel fair.
At its heart is a new sensor offering 5K video recording, 20-megapixel stills, and impressive slow-motion modes. At the back is a larger display, while the front gains one of its own, and version 3.0 of the company’s HyperSmooth video stabilization gains in-camera horizon leveling. Battery life has been boosted by 30%, and the new Max Lens Mod improves both HyperSmooth and ultra-wide SuperView footage.

GoPro Hero9 Black Features:

GoPro HERO9 Black has a 1.4″ LCD front screen on which you can see yourself and be framed while recording. This is something that users have been demanding from the brand for years and which they have finally solved. The main screen, the rear one, is now 16% larger than the previous model.

On the outside there is another great innovation, the lens. The GoPro HERO9 Black comes with the ability to interchange lenses. This is handy when it comes to replacing broken lenses, but it also supports a new accessory that GoPro calls the Max Lens Mod. The all-new Max Lens Mod is priced at Rs 10,500, while the Media Mod is priced at Rs 8,400, the Display Mod at Rs 6,900 and the Light Mod at Rs 4,700.

The GoPro Hero 9 has gained a much larger battery at 1720 mAh, almost 41% larger than the battery in the Hero 8.

But it’s inside that the GoPro Hero9 Black has the most potential to stand out. Featuring a new 23.6 megapixel sensor, it’s the biggest change the brand has made in six versions, with the ability to record video in 5K quality at 30 FPS, 4K at 60 FPS or FullHD up to 240 FPS.

The feature of this HERO9 Black that cycling and mountain biking fans will undoubtedly appreciate the most is HyperSmooth 3.0, an improved version of the stabilisation system.

Along with HyperSmooth 3.0, the Hero 9 comes with TimeWarp 3.0 which adds more acceleration and control over your time-lapse videos.

A webcam mode feature was released in beta for the Hero 8. It is now an official built-in camera mode in the Hero 9. Simply click on the webcam toggle in the camera’s settings and plugin it into the computer. You will now have a high-quality USB webcam.

GoPro Hero 9 price in India

The big question, then, is what all these new features mean for the Hero 9 Black’s price? The GoPro Hero 9 Black is priced at Rs 49,500 and will be available starting October via Amazon, Flipkart, Chroma and select imaging stores.
